Noir Nation, LaLa just dropped a gem about a career move she passed up—one that could’ve shifted the reality TV game in a major way!
While joining Kai Cenat during his MafiaThon 3 Subathon this past weekend, La La revealed for the very first time that she was originally asked to host Love Island when the show first launched.
“You know what’s crazy about the real Love Island? When they first started, they asked me to host it,” she told Kai. His immediate response: “Why you didn’t do it?”
La La explained, “Isn’t that crazy? I was doing my acting thing—I was doing Power, I was doing all of that. I forgot where they filmed it, I think Fiji or somewhere real far. I couldn’t do it. But they asked me to do it—and since I didn’t, now imma just bring it to the chat.”
Though she ultimately chose to stay locked in with her role of LaKeisha Grant for a total of six seasons on one of the most iconic television show’s of our generation.
The reveal has fans wondering just how different Love Island USA could’ve looked with La La running things.
“Oh naaaaaw! We needed her this last season maybe next time but that would have been great.”
“Do it next season you would of been great.”
“She would have been a good host.”
With social media buzzing and fans flooding our comments, pushing for her to take the reins, you never know—La La might just make an appearance in the Love Island villa come 2026.
