Walmart, Target, and The Home Depot’s chief executives are expressing their concerns over new tariff policies and how they could potentially affect the future of their businesses!
Target and Walmart are said to have requested a private meeting with the Trump administration to express their concerns——while the CEO of The Home Depot was also present, reports CBS News. Sources state that they’ve issued warnings that the newly proposed tariffs could lead to empty shelves and a price hike in the next coming weeks.
“We never want to raise prices,” but “there probably will be cases where prices will go up for consumers,” said Walmart CFO John David Rainey.
Following their scheduled meeting, both companies stated that they felt their discussion was productive. “We had a productive meeting with President Trump and his team and appreciated the opportunity to share our insights,” Walmart said in a statement.
