Noir Nation, Joe Budden has officially entered the group chat y’all as he weighs in on the shade Tyla has been receiving lately!
In a recent episode of the retired rapper’s podcast ‘The Joe Budden Podcast,’ Joe alongside his co-hosts discussed Tyla’s recent public interactions. “She comes off like a d**k,” said Joe.
“I didn’t even like how she f**kin’ put her hand on the person that was walking her to the stage.”
He continued by citing a recently issued tweet by popular YouTuber Armon Wiggins as he shared his views of Tyla.
“Hey I don’t think I like TYLA’s personality I think someone needs to check her cus she doesn’t understand American Culture AT ALL..she almost gives off entitled or uppity African idk how to explain it but it’s very off putting and it’s almost like she expects people to just fall to her feet”
His statement comes after Tyla’s name began to trend throughout Black Twitter over the last few days.
The South African pop star has been the topic of discussion over the last week after attending Usher ‘s ‘Past, Present, Future’ tour stop in Brooklyn at the Barclays. Within a video clip shared throughout social media, Usher can be seen two-stepping with Tyla as her smash hit ‘Water’ plays in the background. The two swayed their hip as they both smiled and danced.
Fans have since interpreted the interaction differently as some argue Usher motioned for Tyla to move over to the other side of him while others believe he attempted to dance behind Tyla and she responded by shutting him down.
Another instance occurred at this year’s VMAs as Tyla accepted a signature moon man while joining Lil Nas X and Halle Bailey on stage. Social media users have called her for not wanting to hold her own award and motioning for Halle to hold it for her.
However, the 22-year-old has since debunked the claims while confirming she was asking Lil Nas because the award was too heavy. “Y’all make everything weird…” Tyla tweeted. “ I was not asking my girl Halle…We just girls 💅🏾, STFU I WON A VMAAAA”
Halle also chimed in to write, “ exactly ❤️❤️love u babes congrats”
Joe critiqued the exchange between Tyla and Usher by stating the singer should’ve been more humbling in embracing the moment while his cast members argued that she was setting a boundary.
