Within a now viral TikTok video, Maia’s daughter Elizabeth Elisha Gutierrez shared a photo along with a series of throwbacks from the 90s era.
The video was a part of an online challenge ‘Breaking my heart’ where social media users share throwback pictures of their parents from the past and present to show her fine they were.
Fans also noticed that the actress recently returned to social media earlier this month as she congratulated LeToya Luckett on her marriage.
Fellow celebrities noticed her comment and extended lovealong with support to Maia on her journey to sobriety. The 47 year old responded in revealing that she has been sober for a three years and counting.
In the late 90s, Maia was officially diagnosed with bipolar disorder reports Madame Noire.
Maia was forced to leave the entertainment industry as she began to struggle with mental health issues and substance abuse.
She had. also lost custody of Elizabeth, at a young age.
