Cousins! Big Sean has recently explained that despite his longtime on-again-off-again union with Jhené Aiko, he believes they must overcome certain obstacles before saying “I do”
While speaking in a one-on-one interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Sean was asked has stopped him from marrying Jhené within their eight year relationship. Though he didn’t confirm if they are currently together at this time, he did disclose that they have not secretly tied the knot. “No, no, there has not been a secret industry marriage.”
The Detroit rapper said “It’s a little personal, you know what I mean? But just like to be real with you, just like any people who have dealt with love, we’ve had our ups and downs, you know what I’m saying? And I think it’s still finding the right navigation through it all.”
He went on to explain, that “marriage symbolizes the best relationship,” and that “having a relationship is first and foremost. I feel like a lot of people get the idea of like ‘Oh, you have to get married,’” Sean added.
“But then it’s like, to me, that’s almost a fear-based way of thinking, too. Because then people be getting divorced. The divorce rate so f*cking high.”
Sean and Jhené began dating back in 2016, following her divorce for producer Polo da Genius.
Though the couple has had an on and off again relationship throughout the years, they welcomed their son, Noah, in November 2022.
Jhené is also the mother to her 15-year-old daughter Namikl from a previous relationship with singer O’Ryan.
