Cousins, deeply disturbing body cam footage has been released showing the final moments of an unarmed Black woman as she was gunned down in her own home by police!

A thirty-six-minute video released by Illinois state police shows two Sangamon County sheriff’s deputies as they arrive at the home of Sonya Massey. The 36-year-old is said to have dialed 911 to report a possible “prowler” in her Springfield home, confirms prosecutors.

The video shows Deputy Sean Grayson alongside another deputy as Sonya moves toward the kitchen area of her home to turn off a pot of boiling water. The deputies can be seen moving back as she asks them where they are going. One of the two men can be heard saying, “ away from your hot steaming water.”

In response, Sonya says, “ I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.” One of the two men says “Huh?” and she repeats, “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.” Sean then shouts, “You better fcking not or I swear to God I’ll fcking shoot you in the f*cking face.” As the officers immediately draw their weapons Sonya can be heard saying, “I’m sorry”

Sonya can be seen ducking down to the ground as the men scream, “Drop the fucking pot!”

A total of three shots were fired followed by a moment of silence.

“Dude, I’m not taking f**king boiling water to the f**king head. And look, it came right to our feet, too,” said Sean afterwards.

Later in the video, Sean can be heard telling another officer, “She had boiling water and came at me with boiling water.”

“She said she was going to rebuke me in the name of Jesus and came at (me) with boiling water.”

Sean has since been charged for Sonya’s murder and was indicted by a grand jury last week on three counts of first-degree murder and one count each of aggravated battery with a firearm and official misconduct.

The thirty-year-old has been denied pretrial release and has entered a not guilty plea, confirms court records.

President Biden amongst countless social media users has spoken out following Sonya’s tragic death.

“Sonya Massey, a beloved mother, friend, daughter, and young Black woman should be alive today.”

“Sonya’s death at the hands of a police officer reminds us that all too often Black Americans face fears for their safety in ways many of the rest of us do not.”
