Cousins! NYC Mayor Eric Adams has shared that he and the committee are equally disgusted after viewing the video clip of Diddy attacking Cassie and that they are considering revoking his key to the city!
According to NBC News, Mayor Adams is currently reviewing the necessary steps taken to possibly revoke Sean “Diddy” Combs’ key to New York City.
As we previously reported Mayor Adams presented the now defamed music mogul the key last year on September 15th.
Mayor Adams has stated that there is a process to revoking the key and that an ultimate decision would have to be made involving Diddy.
“There’s a process. There’s a panel, they’re going to look over it, they’re going to make a recommendation to me and we’re going to take the next steps,” said Eric in an interview.
The public demand to revoke Diddy’s key comes after CNN released a 2016 video clip of Diddy brutally assaulting his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
“My heart goes out to the young lady who was assaulted. All of us are disgusted at the video of seeing something of that magnitude. But we want to take the process,” said Mayor Adams.
“We’ve never removed the key from anyone before. We want to make sure we do it right because now we’re going to set precedence and we want to make sure we’re going to do it right. And I was very clear, we’re going to see what the next steps are and we’re not going to get ahead of ourselves.”
Adams hasn’t provided a timeline for making a decision regarding the key.
As we previously reported Diddy has since issued a public apology on Instagram following the release of the 2016 clip.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” says Diddy in the video.
“I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”
