Amanda Seales Speaks On Her Rumored Beef With Issa Rae; “It has always been incredibly important to me to protect Issa”

Cousins! Amanda Seales emptied the clip in her interview with ‘Club Shay Shay where she told her side of things regarding rumors and misconceptions about her in the industry!

While in conversation with Shannon Sharpe, Amanda provided insight into her rumored feud with Issa Rae. She explained that issues began between her and Issa after her publicist Vanessa Anderson hurled shade her way while at a dated 2018 Emmy Awards after-party.

“So I’ve never talked about this publicly because it has always been incredibly important to me to protect Issa,” Amanda expressed to Shannon.

“Because I know that Issa is doing something within this business that so few people get to do. And it’s not something I desire to do. I’m not interested in getting a $100 million production deal. That’s not a life that I want for myself. But I know that her role is very important.”

The actress says that things escalated into the following year after Vanessa allegedly had Amanda violently kicked out of a 2019 Emmys after-party she says she was directly invited to.

Further in the discussion, Amanda explained that Vanessa’s dislike for her deeply affected her relationship with Issa Rae. She claims that the ‘Insecure’ creator told her that their issues had nothing to do with her and advised them to work it out amongst themselves.

Amanda says that while filming the final season of ‘Insecure’ outside issues began to take effect on set and that her fellow cast members began to treat her differently.

“They don’t say nothing to me. And that’s just f—ing mean. It’s mean.” Amanda also claimed that Issa “came out her face at me one time too many.”

The 42-year-old says that their work relationship became estranged and that she didn’t feel personally empowered by her.

“She wasn’t empowering to me. She didn’t feel like I was needed,” Amanda added. “She didn’t feel like I deserved to be protected. I’m only giving a portion of the situation. But that was my experience. And nonetheless, I have still always protected her because I felt like it was my responsibility to do so. But it is not.”

Further in discussion, Amanda addressed circulated notions online that she was a mean girl on set.

“I just want to point out something very basic. How can I be a mean girl on a set that ain’t my set? How? It’s your show. You are my boss,” Amanda explained. “I don’t even have the capacity to be the mean girl here because you can fire me.”
