Cousins! Chris Brown spent Allstar weekend standing on business instead of participating in the Celebrity game after revealing that the NBA reneged on their initial invitation!

The Grammy award-winning artist took to his Instagram story early Saturday morning on February 17th with a series of messages directed at the NBA.

“I was asked by the NBA to play in the all star game this year! Only for them to call later and say they couldn’t do IT because of their sponsors, like RUFFLES,” wrote Chris “At this point I’m sick of people bothering me and I’m tired of living in the fucking past.”

He went on to share screenshots of emails dated back to January 2024, that had prematurely welcomed him to Allstar weekend with further information on how to obtain confirmation regarding scheduling, travel, and credentials upon his arrival. The email also displayed a preview of uniforms teammates who were set to be coached by Lil Wayne would wear.

“I POSTED THE EMAILS SO YALL COULD SEE. The NBA still was tryna get me to come and sit court side… NOT FUCKING HAPPENING.” added Chris “I ONLY GO WHERE IM APPRECIATED.”

Within hours Chris’ statements began to trend online as social media users weighed in on the singer’s mistreatment while others debated if he should’ve been invited in the first place.

Throughout the last few years, the 34-year-old has been vocal about his past and how he feels the industry uses it as a way to shut him out of various opportunities.

Despite actively working to turn over a new leaf and maintaining a successful music career, Chris is still held accountable for his previous relationship with Rihanna and the 2009 shocking domestic violence case that changed both of their lives forever.

Along with additional run-ins with the law in the past, Chris says he wants people to stop using mistakes he made as a young adult to measure against him as the man he is now.

In response to Chris’ statements, an NBA spokesperson came forward to state that, “Ruffles had no input into the Celebrity Game rosters.”

A statement was also released on behalf of the Frito-Lay chip brand company of Ruffles.

“Ruffles sponsored last night’s NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, however, Ruffles did not have any involvement in, nor visibility to, any player decisions or celebrity invite discussions.”

Chris returned to social media shortly to call out Ruffles while insisting he has no reason to

“I guess y’all trynna save face now!” He wrote. “Stand on business. Don’t try to make it look like I’m trippin. You and the NBA representatives know exactly what y’all are doin!”

“The only reason they responded is because of all the team Breezy fans flooding they sh**,” he continued.

“Stop f*****g playing wit me! See how fake this s**t is… cowards. Y’all know damn well I ain’t lying because I never been on this type of time. These b*****s Tryna save face!”

The celebrity all-star game took place on Friday night, with coached by fan favorite artists 50 Cent and Lil Wayne.
