A tragic incident has unfolded out of Miami, where a 32-year-old man is now facing two counts of first-degree murder after fatally shooting his girlfriend’s brothers!
Brothers Jahiem Pierre, 23, and Gianni Pierre, 28, showed up to their sister’s home on Northwest 17th Avenue on Saturday, May 2, to check in on her. Authorities say she had been in a four-year relationship with Antwan Carter, who has a history of domestic violence.
Things quickly escalated when an argument broke out inside the apartment. During the argument between Jahiem and his sister, he hit Carter who stepped in.
According to the Miami Herald, the 32 year old stormed out the apartment and went to bis his vehicle placing an unknown object in his front pants pocket.
Police say Antwan came back to the apartment banging on the door and shouting, “I bet one of you won’t open up!” Once inside, he opened fire shooting Gianni while he sat on the couch and then fatally shooting Jahiem as he ran towards his sister and collapsed on top of her.
After the shooting, Antwan told his girlfriend, “See what you made me do.”
A neighbor reports being awaken out of her sleep after hearing about five gunshots and a door slamming
Authorities say Jahiem was later found bleeding out in a closet, while Gianni was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he sadly passed away shortly after his arrival.
Antwan claims he left the apartment to “get air” and returned only because he forgot his keys and wallet. He claims that both brothers approached him when he returned to the apartment threatening him to square up,” with both fists in the air ready to fight.”
He appeared in court on Monday, May 4, pleading not guilty. He now faces two counts of first-degree murder charges that could carry the death penalty under Florida law.
