Cousins! Do we smell a LEGENDARY collab on thee way?

After Taraji P. Henson revealed that she gave her entire team the boot for failing to capitalize off her role as Cookie Lyon on Fox’s hit series ‘Empire’ 50 Cent says that folks completely dropped the ball. In a post to social media, 50 tagged Taraji and let her know that he‘ ready to get to work.

While in conversation with Variety’s Angelique Jackson Taraji revealed that a spin-off dedicated to Cookie was proposed but never happened. She says that after conversations regarding the spin-off soon died out she was disappointed to learn that her team had nothing set up afterwards.

Firing everybody after Cookie,” said Taraji. “Everybody had to fucking go. Where is my deal? Where’s my commercial? Cookie was at the top of the fashion game. Where is my endorsement? What did you have set up for after this? That’s why you all haven’t seen me in so long. They had nothing set up. All they wanted was another Cookie show.”

She continue, “I said, ‘I’ll do it, but it has to be right. The people deserve…she’s too beloved for y’all to fuck it up.’ And so, when they didn’t get it right, I was like, ‘Well, that’s it,’ and they had nothing else. ‘You’re all fuckin’ fired.’ It took me years to get there…you are the prize. Don’t you ever forget that. You are the talent. You are their check. Don’t every forget that. They work for you. If they are not…somebody else will do it. I stayed with the same team for years.”

Taraji made headlines earlier this month after becoming emotional while speaking on the unfair pay gap she’s experienced in Hollywood as a Black actress. She also revealed her plans to retire out of frustration .

“I’m just tired of working so hard being gracious at what I do and getting paid a fraction of the cost. I’m tired of hearing my sisters say the same thing over and over,” said Taraji.

“I hear people go, ‘You work alot.’ I have to. The math ain’t mathing. When you start working you have a team and big bills come with what you do.

“When you hear someone saying, ‘Such and such made $10 million’ — that didn’t make it to their account. Know that off the top Uncle Sam is getting 50 percent. Do the math, now we have $5 million.”

Taraji added, “Your team is getting 30 percent off of what you gross, not what Uncle Sam took. Now, do the math. It seems whenever I break a glass ceiling and it’s time to renegotiate I’m at the bottom again.”
