Cousins! Halle Bailey celebrated Mother’s Day by honoring her baby boy Halo by inking her very first tattoo with his name!
Halle shared the heartwarming moment with her boyfriend and child’s father DDG on Sunday, May 12th as they both got matching tattoos.
Within a vlog shared on YouTube, DDG revealed the moment he surprised Halle by letting her know that they were going to get tattoos for Mother’s Day.
He explained that he wanted to make the weekend special for Halle and didn’t want to gift her jewelry but rather something more everlasting.
“I was like, ‘What can we do that can last forever?’ So I got a tattoo artist that just pulled up,” DDG said before surprise the singer. “But we just gonna get matching ‘Halo’ tattoos.”
In the video DDG wake up a sleeping Halle as she naps alongside their son Halo.
With a smile on her face from excitement, both Halle and DDG decided to get Halo’s name tatted on the inside of their wrists.
Further in the video Halle admitted that the feeling of getting a tattoo was different and burned as it was her first time. She ultimately opted for a smaller print with red ink while DDG got a larger more bold font with Black ink.
Earlier in the day, Halle took to social media along with footage of her in labor and video clips of Halo’s growth, without showing his face.
The Grammy award-nominated songstress previously revealed that motherhood was a struggle for her initially and that she suffered from postpartum depression
“Before I had a child and I would hear people talk about postpartum, it would kind of just go in one ear and out the other. I didn’t realize how serious of a thing it actually was,” she said.
“Now going through it, it almost feels like you’re swimming in this ocean that’s like the biggest waves you’ve ever felt, and you’re trying not to drown. And you’re trying to come up for air.”
