Cousins! Following a brief misunderstanding in opinions, Soulja Boy has officially issued an apology to J. Cole.

The entire ordeal began last week after Cole appeared on the ‘A Safe Place’ podcast, hosted by Lil Yachty. In a now-viral clip, the Dreamville rapper admitted to not being a fan of Soulja’s music style back in the day and how he had to check himself.

“Around the time Soulja Boy came out, I don’t know how this happened, but I had a realization within myself ’cause I’m hearing that sh*t and I’m like, ‘Man this sh*t, Soulja Boy tell em. ‘Nah, that’s not the thing that I love. Like what? Y’all f**king with this?’ I was one of them”

“Sounds crazy to say now ’cause it’s such a classic to me. But at that time I had resistance.'”

Cole also also said, “But there was a part of me that had a realization. I was proud of myself for this realization. So, I was like, ‘Bruh, you a hater.’ Like, ‘Yo, you are literally hating. You know you like this s**t.'”

Cole’s comment didn’t go over too well with Soulja, as he went on a full-out rant cussing Cole for trying to discredit him as a rapper.

“N***az always hated on me nothing new,” Soulja Boy said on Instagram. “Him and big sean was on some hating s**t. But f**k them im still lit.”

While on Instagram Live with Nicki helped Soulja realize that Cole wasn’t speaking negatively about him.

“[J. Cole] said that he had to keep it real with himself and admit that people like you are what was really keeping the wave going and like really bringing the energy … He basically gave you props … So what the fuck was you on when you misinterpreted it, and now you stand here doing the most again?”

Further in the conversation, Soulja issued an apology by saying she was willing to let it go. He also took to Twitter to say sorry to Cole.

“My bad dawg. @JColeNC sorry for the confusion. keep doing your shit we from two different worlds. I stand on what I stand on, it’s hard coming from where I did man. I dealt with a lot of hate my whole career so it was just messed to think it would come from you. 💯”
