Cousins! Nicki Minaj took to Instagram Tuesday night to let the Barbz know that her highly anticipated ‘Pink Friday 2’ album has been pushed back once again!
Nicki explains that the switch has been confirmed behind the scenes for a while now. She says that due to her and Lil Wayne‘s tight relationship, she wouldn’t want to release on the same day as him and 2 Chainz scheduled project.
“Now it’s been changed for some time now behind the scenes so as you can tell I–Weezy and 2 Chainz have announced their date. And you know how me and Weezy play he would never—do that if that was my album date. So I wanted to make sure you guys were aware of that.’
She adds, “The new album date for this incredible body of work, that I am so proud of is on a special day to me and to the Barbz — it will come out on my birthday. Pink Friday 2 I am so happy to announce will be out on my birthday.”
Nicki’s fifth studio album was originally scheduled to release on November 18th. Uproxx reports Pink Friday 2 will drop December 8th through Republic Records.
