Cousins! Carlee Russell has been officially terminated from her job at a local Alabama spa following the gruesome impact of her now-viral kidnapping story!
According to reports from the New York Post, Woodhouse Spa in Birmingham owner Stuart Rome has come forward to speak on the ways in which he and his staff members were affected by Carlee’s believed disappearance. “It was really devastating for them thinking a co-worker was abducted.”
He says, “The following day, Saturday, it was the busiest day of the week, and they had to plug along and work and in the off times pass out flyers and other things.”
As we previously reported the Hoover Police Department provided specific details surrounding Carlee’s abduction story as they state she had searched the internet for Amber alert costs, kidnapping movie titles, and bus ticket prices prior to her frantic 911 call.
Stuart says his staff memebers feelings evolved from devastation to anger. “As the information came out that there were some questionable things, we’ve been a little pissed off, mainly because so many people took so much time out to search.”
He says that the spa has been receiving poor ratings and negative comments on social media, ultimately damaging the brand as Carlee’s story continues to circulate.
“Basically, we’ve spent the last day battling to get things deleted,”says Stuart . “Comments. I’ve had to shut down my comment section on Instagram and Facebook page which hurts us because we do a lot of marketing there. We’re just trying to keep the doors open.”
As we previously reported Carlee called 911 earlier this month on July 13th around 9 pm, stating that she had witnessed a child alone wearing a diaper, waking barefooted on the side of a highway interstate. Before police officials arrived she disappeared for two days.
Hoover Police state that Carlee informed them that she was kidnapped and held captive. Her red Mercedes-Benz, cellphone, wig and apple watch were located at the scene, but there were no traces of her or the missing child.
According to the NY Post, Carlee claims she was abducted by a man who forced her into a car and then an 18-wheeler truck while she was blindfolded. Reports read that Carlee also says she was taken to a home where a woman gave her cheese crackers.
The 25 year old told detectives after fighting for her life she was able to escape and run through a wooded area back to her neighborhood.
“I think it erodes faith for the next time, it erodes faith when people see somebody who’s been abducted and they’ve been put through this,”said Rome.
“They’re just not going to respond like they did, which is the worst part.”
