Cousins! Rihanna has officially stepped down as CEO of her popular lingerie brand Savage X Fenty brand!
According to Vogue Business, Rihanna has appointed former Anthropologie Group CEO Hilary Super to take her place. Hilary is said to have held previous leadership roles at brands such as Guess, American Eagle, Old Navy, and Gap. Rihanna will remain in the leadership role as an executive chair.
“It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years. This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer,” says Rihanna.
“I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO – she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level.”
Reports read that the official move goes into effect on Monday June 26th.
“I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family,” said Hillary. “The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.”
Rihanna’s decision to step down as CEO comes as the brand is seeking to expand within the e-commerce industry reports Vogue.
As of 2022 Fenty has opened a total of seven stores in US within major cities such as Los Angeles, Houston, Las Vegas and Atlanta.
Savage X Fenty has amplified changes within the fashion industry based on inclusivity. Originally launching in 2018, the brand has been recognized for producing items that have been model by plus size women, while also featuring gender-neutral lingerie and loungewear.
