Cousins! Tory Lanez and his legal team are making strides to not only receive a new trial but to also toss out his previously issued conviction within the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case!

According to TMZ, the Canadian native’s attorney Jose Baez has filed an appeal this week outlined with claims that the prosecution team purposely utilized irrelevant pieces of evidence in efforts of out weighing Tory’s alleged innocence.

In court documents obtained by the outlet Jose noted that prosecutors forwarded an image of Tory appearing shirtless that shows a firearm tattoo on his chest. It has been indicated that during trial, prosecutors had suggested the photo was used for identification purposes. However Jose says the photo was used to suggest Tory had a deep interest in weapons.

Jose is also calling out that it was an ultimate error in allowing the prosecution team to threaten to use Tory’s song lyrics a part of trial to represent to the jury.

The newly issued appeal highlights that Megan’s former friend Kelsey Harris’ 80 minute confession in which she said Tory shot the Houston native, had a negative outcome on Tory’s case despite her later back peddling while in court.

But it does end there as Jose argues evidence surrounding a comment made on social media from Megan’s producers alleging that cops matched bullets from Tory’s gun to the fragments in Megan’s foot should’ve been tossed.

Also statements that Megan made to police officials immediately after the shooting claiming that Tory told her, “”Please don’t say anything because I’m on probation,” should’ve been retracted.

As we previously reported Tory is facing the possibility of 22 years in prison along with deportation. He is scheduled to appear in court next month for official sentencing.
