Cousins! We are sending our deepest prayers and condolences to the loved ones of a Bronx, New York father that was tragically stabbed to by his neighbor recently following a dispute over loud music!
According to reports from Pix 11 news, the incident occurred on March 24th around 1:44 AM outside a second floor apartment located on Elsmere Place. Tyquan Pleasant’s girlfriend Jayvonna Rucker says the tragic ordeal occurred as the loud noise erupted across the hall from their apartment as their newborn and toddler were sleeping.
“We heard loud banging noises, banging, banging, banging,”said Jayvonna.She continues in explains that Tyquan, 27 went next door to ask the neighbor to turn down their music.
“They got into an argument. Next thing you know, the guy came out of his apartment. I just saw him stabbing him a lot of times. I tried to go in front to get him off of him and he kept stabbing him, stabbing him,” recalled Jayonna. “I didn’t have anyone there to help. I tried to save him.”
NBC New York news reports that the neighbor responsible for Tyquan’s tragic death has been identified as a transgender woman named Shaun Pyles. The 25 year old has officially been arrested and charged with murder.It has been indicated that she repeatedly stabbed Tyquan as his back was turned.
The family told officials that there was a long history between the two neighbors involving previous disputes surrounding loud music and noises.
“They made 311 noise complaints … Everybody in the building would complain about this person,” said the victim’s aunts Kawanna Pleasant. “It went too far. For my nephew to argue with this person, and then he turned his back and to be stabbed in the back like a coward, my nephew was walking away.”
Following the brutal attack, Jayvonna says she called 911 and attempted to do CPR.
“She told me to put my hand under his nose to see if I could feel something, and I did not feel anything. I knew he was gone,” said Jayvonna.
He was described as being unconscious when officers arrived on the scene.
Tyquan was described by his loved ones as a family man and father of two small children. They said his death is both devastating and senseless.
“Life is short. You can be with somebody one moment, then the next minute they are taken from you. You never know. Spend every moment you can with your loved one because I wish Tyquan was still here,” said Jayvonna.
The family has created a GoFundMe account to assist them with financial support.
