Cousins! Drake had the city of New York on lock this past weekend as he hit the legendary Apollo Theater stage for not one but two nights in a row!

From celebrity friends, guest appearances and hundreds of adoring fans there was nothing less than love, admiration and excitement in the building. However things got a little spooky when a fan suddenly dropped from the venue’s balcony during Drake’s set alongside 21 Savage.

According to reports from TMZ and circulated videos from social media; a fan apparently fell from the 2nd floor balcony into the crowd on the lower level of the venue. It has been stated that the incident took place approximately 90 minutes into Drake’s set from night two of his weekend takeover.

In one angle the man can be seen dropping out of the sky and onto fans and in another he is seen within the mezzanine area leaning on the balcony and then falling over the ledge.

It has been stated that Drake didn’t see the exact moment the fan fell because he was in the middle of performing and his back was turned at the time. However a moment after the incident he is said to have paused his performance as on site officials provided the unidentified male with immediate care.

“Just gotta make sure somebody’s OK,” Drake informed fans.

The male was described as a 26 year old fan who was possibly intoxicated and was taken to a hospital in Harlem for further care evaluation. A light fixture was damaged in result to the incident resulting in a 15 minute show delay.

On Monday afternoon the Apollo theater released an official statement on their verified Instagram in response to the incident. “Unfortunately, last evening an incident occurred with an audience member who landed in the orchestra from the lower mezzanine”

“Drake, Apollo, and SiriusXM halted the show immediately when learning of a potential fan injury and standard protocols were taken. They were seen immediately by EMS on site.”

The statement continues, “ The fan and other audience members reported that they were OK. No major injuries have been reported. The Apollo is investigating the situation further.”

The Toronto native is said to have performed over 40 fan favorite songs within his very first Apollo concert. Within his two day take over Drake successfully brought out surprise guests 21 Savage and members of Harlem’s legendary Dip-Set.

Drake’s Apollo theater takeover had originally been scheduled for November but he rescheduled it due to the tragic passing of beloved Migos group member and friend Takeoff.; reports Variety.
