Cousins! The 2016 story of a woman who had won a enough money to secure the life she wanted including future generations to come only to be offered a steak meal instead is making headlines once again.
New York resident Katrina Bookman, had her entire world turned upside down recently as she occupied a a slot machine at Resorts World Casino located in Jamaica, Queens. As she went to take a selfie to mark her win Katrina shares that she was shocked at the actual amount the machine had ended on reading a total of $42,949,672.
The life altering moment would have been the largest slot machine jackpot in US history.

Following her win Katrina was advised to comeback the next day to discuss her winnings. However she says when she asked a casino employee for the exact dollar amount she would end up with they responded, “You didn’t win nothing.”
CNN reports, New York State Gaming Commission, Katrina’s slot machine had reportedly experienced a malfunction and instead of her bringing home over forty million dollars she actually won $2.25.
It has been indicated that the machine Katrina had been using displayed a detailed disclaimer which read ‘malfunctions void all pays and plays’. Indicating that by law the casino was required by law to give her only what she’d actually won.
They are also said to have offered a complimentary steak meal.
According to CNN, Katrina hired an attorney Alan Ripka who has been fighting for months years to get her money back but still nothing. “You can’t claim a machine is broken because you want it to be broken. Does that mean it wasn’t inspected? Does it mean it wasn’t maintained?,” said Ripka. “And if so, does that mean that people that played there before [Bookman] had zero chance of winning?”
Cousins, what would y’all have done in this situation?
