Cousins! The Family of a Mississippi male has been left searching for answer’s after his remains were reportedly discovered just 30 days after he warned them that he was in fear of his life!
Rasheed Ryelle Carter was last seen alive on October 2nd outside of a local Super 8 hotel in Laurel, roughly 30 minutes outside of Taylorsville. According to News One he had been under contract for work.
Rasheed’s family has come forward following his mysterious death with a series of details prior to the tragic ordeal. They state that the 25 year old had traveled to a police department located in Taylorsville. He is said to have informed officers that he had been followed by white men in a white truck.
“He told them that someone was trying to harm him and I heard him when he said that but they told me that he never said someone was trying to harm him,” said Rasheem mom, Tiffany Carter. “Little did they know I was on the phone when he said it. He told me on the phone personally that it was three white trucks full of white men.

Rasheed didn’t have a car and asked the police officers if they could help him get back to his hotel. They are said to have reportedly declined his request and stated that the hotel was out of their jurisdiction. Rasheed also asked if he could stay at the station until his ride arrived and was reportedly told no they don’t have room for him.
“He waited nervously in the police station, pacing back and forth, and asked the officers for a ride back to Laurel where his hotel was,” said Carter’s aunt, Felicia Kaho.
It has been stated that Rasheed returned to the police station the very next day, early in the morning pleading to officers to help him. They are said to once again declined his offer to provide him assistance.
According to reports from Vicburg news, Smith County Sheriff Joel Houston has comes forward in saying that Rasheed did not explain he was in any immediate danger when he went to the police station. “To them, he never seemed to be in any distress or anything and he never mentioned anything about being in immediate danger,” Houston said. “They offered him a phone call and he said he had a phone and they even offered him a charger but the charger that was available didn’t fit his phone, so he was just trying to find a ride back to Laurel when he came in contact with police.”
His family says that Rasheed instructed his mother that if something happened to him there were a group of people responsible in which he provided a series of names. “He did speak with his mom Tiffany about a white truck and white males in there threatened to harm him,” his cousin, Shonda told local news. “He did give her the names.”
In a series of Facebook posts, Rasheed’s family explained that on Sunday October 2nd they had traveled to Taylorsville a week after he went missing. “When I first go there I went to the Chevron and I waited there for a little while,” said a family friend Edgar Green said.
“I went to the Piggly Wiggly and Jr. Food Mart and the Family Dollar Store and I went in and asked have they seen him a and they said no.”
Rasheed was reportedly seen on a landowner’s camera, with a stick in his hand and looking around . “ It looks like he knows that someone is after him and it looks like he has a stick in his hand so I don’t know if someone was chasing him but he has bruises and a gash on the hairline,”
Authorities confirm that a current investigation is underway and that the possible remains of Rasheed’s have been sent to crime lab for an autopsy. His mother has provided a DNA sample for identification purposes.
Our thoughts and prayers remain within his family. We are hopeful that justice is served.
