Cousins!
A Texas-based judge has prohibited the sunny state from investigating families that have transgender children!
Therefore, the aforementioned minors cannot be questioned if they are under gender-confirming medical care. Should the police force disregard this new law, it’ll be considered child abuse.
NPR reports that Judge Jan Soifer pushed out this temporary restraining order. Since it’s been set in place, investigations against three families who sued were put to an end. In addition, investigations against the PFLAG Inc, an LGBTQ advocacy group, were stopped. PFLAG has 600 members, specifically in Texas.
Soifer said at the end of his hearing via NPR,

“I do find that there is sufficient reason to believe that the plaintiffs will suffer immediate and irreparable injury if the commissioner and the (Department of Family and Protective Services) are allowed to continue to implement and enforce this new Department rule that equates gender-affirming care with child abuse.”
A month ago, The Texas Supreme Court allowed the state to investigate parents of transgender kids for child abuse. The first family who faced this dilemma made this pass happen after being contacted by child welfare officials.
About the newfound ruling, PFLAG National’s executive director, Brian K. Bond, released a statement. He said:

“Families will be protected from invasive, unnecessary, and unnerving investigations by DFPS simply for helping their transgender children thrive and be themselves is very good. However, let’s be clear: These investigations into loving and affirming families shouldn’t be happening in the first place.”
A state attorney attempted to dismiss the judge’s pass of not investigating families with transgender children. They defined this action as “untenable” and “difficult to comply with.” Since the law was passed, nine investigations have been opened by The Texas Department of Family. On June 21st, 2022, Texas citizens will find out the duration of this act.
