A Florida woman is currently facing murder charges for allegedly hiring a hitman that murdered a young mother in front of her child because she was reportedly dating her ex boyfriend!
According to ABC News 13, Jasmine Martinez, 33 allegedly used her federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan to pay someone to kill Le’Shonte Jones, 24.
Reports read Le’Shonte had been arriving home to her Miami apartment from her job as a Transportation Security Administration worker on May 3rd, 2021 alongside her daughter when an armed gunman wearing a Black hoodie began shooting. Her 3 year was injured during the time of the incident and taken to the hospital.
Sources confirm that just a day before Le’Shonte’s death Jasmine had withdrew 10,000 in cash. She had obtained $15,000 in PPP loans from the federal government upon claims of needed assistance for her single-employee beauty salon during the pandemic.
Officials state they believe Jasmine fraudulently used the pandemic relief to hire Javon Carter identified as the gunmen. He had recorded a video of himself counting a large stack of money hours after the tragic ordeal with a caption that read, “Just another day at the office,”
As NBC6 News reports,: investigators say Martinez and Jones had known each other and Martinez had previously been arrested and charged with battery for attacking Jones twice, once in 2016 and once in 2018.
Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail indicate that Jasmine allegedly attacked Le’Shonte back in 2016 because Jones was dating an ex-boyfriend of hers at the time. That case has been indicated as dropped.
Jasmine has been arrested again in 2018 for attacking Le’Shonte. Officers reportedly who witnessed her punching Le’Shonte in the face, notes The New York Times
Police have arrested Javon Carter, the alleged hitman, and Romiel Robinson, reportedly Jasmine’s current boyfriend.
