Following actress Tisha Campbell ‘s claims that she was almost kidnapped in an alleged sex trafficking attempt, the Brownsville Police Department has issued a recent update!
Officials state they’ve launched an immediate investigation upon Tisha’s viral story on social media and that through numerous interviews and review of surveillance footage that they’ve been unable to validate her story or even any hotel stay.
“Regrettably, our department became aware of Ms. Campbell’s ordeal via social media and not through traditional reporting means as would be expected from a victim of an attempted heinous crime, “ reads the forwarded post.
“Upon reviewing facts presented by Ms. Campbell in her video, BPD Investigators quickly launched an investigation as such cases are not the norm in our city. Through numerous interviews and reviews of security camera footage, we could not validate Ms. Campbell’s stay in Brownsville hotels nor any other claims made in the video.”
The post continues, “The Brownsville Police Department takes human trafficking and incidents such as the one Ms. Campbell reported seriously and welcomes her to reach out to us to investigate the matter further.“
As we previously reported back in January, Tisha had taken to social media to share a super scary moment, revealing that she believes she was almost a victim of sex trafficking.
“This was a video I sent to my brother right after it happened but I felt it important for ppl to be aware. I need for EVERYONE to be overly conscious of themselves and their loved ones” reads Tisha’s post.
As Tonidrivera says it’s SHOPPING SEASON where traffickers try to snatch ppl up!!! If I wasn’t from Newark boyyyyy… If Tony Rivera hadn’t schooled me and my friends on what to look for, SHIT would’ve been real different. PLUS I don’t sound like I loo.”
She continues, “Also I am thankful to the production for their concern and their understanding. What’s crazy is I went back to the front desk, the guy that gave me the taxi number wasn’t there. I asked the woman where he was. She looks at the number and says, “why would he give you this number? This isn’t the normal number.” It was a set up fo real.
