We regret to report that a total of 13 Historically Black Colleges and Universities received bomb threats today, forcing immediate lock downs and postponing of classes on the very first day of Black History Month!
CNN reports the list of HBCU‘s that received threats were Mississippi Valley State University, Jackson State University, Morgan State University, Alcron State University, Tougaloo College, Kentucky State University , Fort Valley University , Xavier University, Spelman College, University of the District of Columbia and Edwards Waters University.
It has been stated that today serves as the second consecutive day of bomb threats for Howard University.
“My team will continue to work with students, faculty and alumni to make sure HBCUs continue to be a safe place for students to learn,” reads a tweet from US Education Secretary Miguel Cardona. He says that the threats are disturbing and will not be tolerated.
On Monday morning, series of bomb threats were issued amongst a total of six HBCUs. According to CNN the Historically Black Colleges and Universities of Southern University and A&M, Howard University, Bethune-Cookman University, Albany State University, Bowie State University and Delaware State University had received bomb threats.
