Netflix just added some flavor to the line-up! Congratulations are in order for iconic filmmaker Spike Lee following news that he’s partnering up in an official deal with Netflix!
Spike’s production company Forty Acres and a Mule Filmworks, has recently announced their multi-year creative partnership that is set begin in this month, reports Complex.
The deal comes after Spike collaborated with Netflix on a few projects, including the film Da 5 Bloods and the TV scripted series She’s Gotta Have It.

Spike revealed his excitement within a forwarded statement about the project, “There is no better way for me and my company 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks to begin the new year than renew our partnership with Ted, Scott, and Tendo – The fearless leaders of Netflix. Besides my joint, we together will focus on the new diverse storytellers, youth must be served. And that’s the truth Ruth. YA-DIG? SHO-NUFF.”
With this partnership, we can look forward to Rodney King and See You Yesterday. This deal will only open the future for more Black films to be broadcasted, not to mention on a great streaming platform.
Throughout his career and Spike has delivered time and time again by setting the bar for Black creatives.
