The death of Drakeo The Ruler has hit the industry very hard. In response numerous artists have taken to social media to speak on his murder, while also reflecting on the fact that these tragedies are happening too often!
Wiz Khalifa was amongst the bunch to express his frustration on the social media platform of Twitter.
“As entertainers let’s try some sh*t next year. Minding our own business. Not disrespecting each other’s family, dead homies, or area they come from. Stop using someone else’s significant other as a one up to the other person. Actually, showing the same love you expect to get.”
Violence in the entertainment industry has been a major concern for decades. As a culture we’ve endured numerous heartbreaking blows witnessing some of our favorite and prominent artists lose their lives in result to senseless acts.
The idea of Wiz pushing the agenda; to challenge artist to hold themselves accountable when it comes down to violence is amazing.
For the world to really evolve, these artists must use their influence in knowing that for the world to change it could begin within them changing as well.
