Cousins!

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony took place over the following weekend. Many great artists have previously been inducted into the most prestigious events in music history. Last weekend it wasn’t any different, when many noble artists such as LL COOL J, Tina Turner, Foo Fighters, and other inductees were inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. But all eyes were on Brooklyn native Jay-Z as he took home the ROC.
According to Yahoo News, it was not a surprise that HOV received a star-studded introduction led by former President Barack Obama.  “I’ve turned to Jay-Z’s words at different points in my life, whether I was brushing dirt off my shoulder on the campaign trail, or sampling his lyrics on the Edmund Pettus Bridge on the 50th anniversary of the Selma March to Montgomery,” says the former President.

“Today, Jay-Z is one of the most renowned artists in history and an embodiment of the American dream, a dream he has helped make real for other young people like him.”
After Obama’s remarks, a gang of A-listers, including Rihanna, Queen Latifah, David Letterman, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Diddy, Jamie Foxx, Chris Rock, and Jay’s wifey herself, Beyonce’ took turns reciting Jay’s memorable lyrics in a pre-recorded video montage. Then the queen, Blue Ivy (Not Beyonce), concluded by quoting her father’s lyrics to “Ride or Die.”

Now, if you thought that it could not get any better, it does just that when Dave Chappelle had the honor of introducing Mr. Shawn Carter. “It is an incredible honor to induct this next man into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” says the comedian. “But I need everybody in rock ‘n’ roll to know that, even though you are honoring him, he is ours. He is hip-hop. For ever and ever, and a day.

In Carter’s acceptance speech, he gave out a shout-out to his mother, Gloria Carter, but it was one shout-out that was least expected. Jay-Z also gave a shout-out to Roc-A-Fella co-founder Dame Dash. Shout out to Dame… I know we don’t see eye to eye, but I can never erase your accomplishments, and I appreciate you and thank you for that,” JAY-Z said. Despite their differences, Dame Dash did say he is willing to end their feud after Jay’s acceptance speech. But only time will time if these two will resolve their issues

Jay-Z has contributed so much to Hip-Hop. It is nice to see him getting his flowers for the use of his pen. Cousins whats your favorite project of his?
