Cousins!

Arguably known as one of the greatest R&B groups of the 90s, 112 has successfully succeeded in landing a forever spot on our playlists of legendary throwbacks!

However in recent news it appears the four brothers in song have been having trouble behind the scenes for years.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, back in May 2019 group member Q Parker filed for bankruptcy, in that same month Slim sued two other members for using the group’s trademark without permission.

The drama was made apparent to fans during their recently held Verzuz battle against Jagged Edge as only two members showed up deciding to sit out solely because of the issues lawsuit.

Unfortunately the drama hasn’t ended there as Slim has taken to social media to state My hope is that those who are pursuing music don’t practice this type of business. First let me say I forgive all those that have wronged me any way…I just will never forget. I trademarked 112 in 2018…8 years after it was abandoned, ANYONE could have done it. For me 112 is a priority so business wise it made sense to protect what I risked everything for.”

Reports read that group members nor management had a clue about the trademark filing and were surprised when Slim revealed the truth. Some members decided to leave and even accused him of stealing money as they continued to book further appearances using the name 112.

Slim has denied all accusations.

One former was in the church, why use a secular name? The other wanted to do solo projects, why use a brand you walked away from AGAIN? Could have easily did this and stayed in the group,” said Slim. “To all promoters, venues and agencies following me…PLEASE DON’T LET THEM PUT YOU IN ANY UNNECESSARY SITUATIONS WITH INFRINGEMENT.”
