US Senator Kamala Harris recently met with the family of Jacob Blake within a visit to Wisconsin!
The meeting took place on Monday, apart of her first solo campaign trip since being officially nominated as Joe Bidden presidential running mate, reports, CBS NEWS .
Senator Harris describes Jacob’s loved ones to reporters as being, “ an incredible family. And what they’ve endured, and they just do it with such dignity and grace. And you know, they’re carrying the weight of a lot on their shoulders.”
She states that her message to the family was , “ to express concern for their well-being, and of course for their brother and their son’s well-being. And to let them know they have support.”
The family’s attorney Ben Crump forwarded a statement upon the hourlong meeting with Sen. Harris over the phone.
He states Sen. Harris “spoke individually with each family member about how they were handling the trauma and urged them to take care of their physical and mental health.’“
Crump describes a “moving moment” when Blake told Harris directly “that he was proud of her,” and Harris replied that, “she was also proud of him and how he is working through his pain.”
