The story behind the legendary 80’s girl group #SaltNPeppa is set for release on the #LifeTime network!
According to #Variety ; lead actresses G.G Townson and Laila Odom are set to star as Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton. Sources have confirmed that the limited series will star fellow actors Cleveland Berto who will play the role of music producer Hurby Azor, Jermel Howard is set to play rapper Treach and Monique Paul will take on the role of DJ Spinderella.
The film is set to depict the life and times of the group’s journey to stardom as musicians after recording their first single. The film will cover life beyond the music and shed light on their personal lives.
You’ll be excited to know that the film will showcase Salt-N-Pepa’s hit singles Let’s Talk About Sex,” “What a Man,” “Shoop” and “Push It,” and much more.
The Salt-N-Pepa biopic will be produced by Sony Pictures Television and directed by Mario Van Peebles. Reports read that the script was written by Abdul Williams. The biopic has an all star line up of executives; Robert Teitel of Slate Street Prods. Cheryl James, Sandra Denton, Shakim Compere and the iconic Queen Latifah.
The limited series is set to air in 2020.
