Tyler Perry Gives $250K In Gift Cards To Atlanta TSA Agents Following Government Shutdown!

As thousands of TSA agents at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport go unpaid during the ongoing federal shutdown, Tyler Perry is once again putting his money where his heart is!

This week, 250 TSA workers received $1,000 Visa gift cards each from Tyler’s team adding up to a total of $250,000 reports 11 Alive News.

Earlier this week the media mogul made headlines as word instantly spread of Tyler appearing in person at Hartsfield-Jackson to hand out large lump sums of cash to TSA agents. Though his intentions were pure, Tyler was turned away as Federal rules prohibit TSA employees from accepting cash gifts while on duty.

Thankfully, Tyler discovered a loophole to extend his efforts by distributing gift cards to each employee.

Aaron Barker, president of the AFGE, said TSA officer unions don’t have the same restrictions and can accept donations to distribute to their members, AP reports.

Sources state that Tyler spoke directly with TSA employees to thank them for their services for showing up each day despite their current circumstances.

Tyler’s hefty donation comes as the Department of Homeland Security shutdown continues, sadly leaving more than 60,00 airport security workers working without pay.
