Big Sean and Usher are giving back in a major way, teaming up to launch a $1 million entertainment program at the Boys & Girls Club in Detroit!

The initiative is designed to give local youth hands-on access to music, media, and creative industry resources; opening doors to opportunities many never get to see up close, reports Fox 2 News Detroit.

The project hits close to home for both artists. Big Sean has long credited Detroit’s community programs for helping shape his journey, while Usher has been vocal about the impact mentorship and early exposure had on his career.

Detroit is, you know, an extension of Atlanta’s passion and love. It’s a city that had to rise from the ashes,” Usher said.

In many ways, we all have adversity in life, but what I love about this city is that it takes ownership of its history. And what I think is happening here, what I know is happening here, is just reminding the rest of the world of what has happened here and what will continue to happen when we all come together.”

Together, they’re pouring into the next generation, making sure Detroit kids not only dream big—but have the tools, guidance, and support to turn those dreams into real careers.

Detroit is fire. I mean, what else is there to say? You’ve seen it over and over, it’s the story of our city,” Big Sean said. “That song I made, ‘Bounce Back,’ is such a Detroit story because that is the story of us. We’re resilient.”
