An unidentified woman was found deceased inside a Dollar Tree freezer early Monday morning at a store located in Little Havana, reports Local News 12.
🕗 Discovery Made by Store Employee
According to authorities, Helen Massiell Garah Sanchez’s body was discovered around 8 a.m. on Monday, December 15, when a Dollar Tree employee opened a freezer inside the store. Miami police were immediately notified and responded to the scene.
In an audio obtained by CBS Miami, the employee told Miami Police officials that Helen had been completely naked. “Complainant found a naked female in the cooler of the store,” said dispatchers through police scanners.

According to a GoFundMe created by loved ones, Helen was a 32-year-old mother of two and a doctor from Nicaragua who was reportedly “abroad” visiting her father when the tragic accident occurred.
Helen dedicated her life to medicine, earning recognition as an anesthesiologist specializing in congenital heart disease. Her work focused on caring for some of the most vulnerable patients — children — and her impact extended far beyond hospital walls.
“Her work brought hope and healing to countless children and families,” the fundraiser reads. “Her compassion, skill, and commitment to saving young lives defined both her career and her character.”

Law enforcement officials confirmed that the investigation is active and ongoing. Authorities are currently working to determine how long the woman’s body was inside the freezer and how she ended up there.
Despite the alarming circumstances, investigators have stated that foul play is not suspected at this time and that there has been no alarming discoveries made after reviewinmg surveillance footage. USA Today reports on December 17th Department officials confirmed Helen was seen on camera footage walking to the freezer.
However, officials have not ruled out additional possibilities as they continue gathering evidence and reviewing surveillance footage.

“I can’t believe in the Dollar Tree you’d find a dead body.”
According to reports from USA Today, Dollar tree has declined to answer questions regarding Helen’s connection to the store. “We are cooperating fully with the authorities at this time.”
