Beloved actor Chadwick Boseman has officially taken his rightful place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame five years after his passing with a posthumous star.

According to reports from PEOPLE, Chadwick has been recognized as the 2,828th entertainer to receive a star,securing his legacy as one of the most influential actors of his generation. His widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, accepted the honor on his behalf.
“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman’s extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, said in a statement, per Billboard. “His powerful performances and enduring impact both on and off screen continue to inspire generations around the world.”

In a heartwarming moment, Simone placed one of his dress shoes on the star, signifing the journey he walked and the ground he broke as a creative, story teller and culture shifter.
Simone was surrounded by family and friends as Chadwick star was unveiled including former co-stars Michael B. Jordan, Ryan Coogler, Letitia Wright, Viola Davis, who came together to honor the man whose presence shaped their lives on and off screen.

Born in Anderson, South Carolina, Chadwick studied directing at Howard University before stepping into acting with a mission: to tell powerful, truthful stories. She added, “What I hold onto with Chad is that he lived his life his way. I would say his professional life as absolutely paralleled his personal life, that’s my guess, in terms of how he lived with the utmost integrity.“
