Morgan Freeman is over it! The legendary actor says AI creators have been using his voice without permission, and the problem has gotten so real that his lawyers are now working double time!
The actor opened up in a new conversation with The Guardian, and let’s just say, he did not hold back. Morgan revealed he’s straight-up “PO’d” about the spike in AI-generated versions of his voice circulating online.
He explained that the knockoff voice clones have gotten way too bold, using his sound without paying him or even bothering to ask. And if there’s one thing Morgan is not about to tolerate, it’s someone playing in his face and profiting off his talent.
“Don’t mimic me with falseness,” he said, explaining that he earns his living with his voice, and anyone cloning it without his involvement is basically stealing. Morgan kept it real in saying, “If you’re gonna do it without me, you’re robbing me.”
The actor revealed that his legal team has already uncovered “quite a few” cases where people tried to replicate or use his voice illegally. And according to him, those discoveries have kept them busy just trying to track down even more. “Well, I tell you, my lawyers have been very, very busy,” he added.
The situation highlights a growing issue in Hollywood as AI tools become more advanced; artists are scrambling to protect their likeness, voices, and identities from being copied or exploited.
