Cousins!
Congratulations are in order as Michael B Jordan has been named an official producer of the highly anticipated DC ‘s Static Shock film!
Michael alongside Warner Bros. Reginald Hudin and Outlier Society will work together on the actively developed project, reports the HollywoodReporter.
Sources have confirmed that news of the fourth coming film was originally announced back in August at a DC’s FanDome event.
“I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around black superheroes; our community deserves that,” stated Michael in a forwarded statement.
“Outlier Society is committed to bringing to life diverse comic book content across all platforms and we are excited to partner with Reggie and Warner Bros on this initial step.”
It has been indicated that the film will depict the story of the original 1993 animated series and its main character Virgil Hawkins.
Virgil serves as average teenage boy who has the ability to transform into a superhero with electromagnetic powers after an odd accident involving a form of gas.
Static shock is highly recognized as being one of the only animated series staring a Black character.
