Noir Nation, Delta State University is in mourning after a tragic on-campus incident shook the school community. 21-year-old Demartravion “Trey” Reed of Grenada, Mississippi, was found early Monday morning near the campus pickleball courts in what authorities are treating as a possible suicide.
💔 Heartbreaking Discovery
According to officials, Reed was discovered hanging from a tree around 7:05 a.m. Local law enforcement immediately responded, joined by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office, and Cleveland Police Department. While authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected, an autopsy is pending to confirm the official cause of death, reports The Independent.
The Bolivar County Coroner’s office shut down the rumors in a statement on Monday, saying: “Based on the preliminary examination, we can confirm that the deceased did not suffer any lacerations, contusions, compound fractures, broken bones, or injuries consistent with an assault.”
“At this time, there is no evidence to suggest the individual was physically attacked before his death.”
