T.I. and Tiny can officially put an ongoing legal battle between them and a former friend behind them after scoring a major win in court this week!
Judge Shultz ruled on Monday ( March 24th) to dismiss Sabrina Peterson’s defamation lawsuit against T.I. and Tiny after nearly four years, reports Rolling Stone.
As we previously reported Sabrina took legal action against the Harris’ back in 2021 as she accused them of drugging and sexually abusing multiple women, as well as allegations that the rapper threatened her with a firearm in front of her children.
Court documents confirm that five out of the seven issued claims were dismissed which allowed the couple to countersuit for legal fees. Sabrina was held responsible for the repayment of over $96,000 as T.I. and Tiny won the countersuit. However, Sabrina failed to make any payments while repeatedly failing to appear in court.
After a judge had warned that a warrant would be issued for her arrest, Sabrina appeared at this week’s legal proceedings as she claimed financial hardship. She explained that she would be able to make monthly payments of $1,000 until the debt was settled.
In response Judge Shultz shared his disappointment of Sabrina’s actions describing her inadequate efforts as “Inexcusable.”
“The case was filed on March 1, 2021, and it has now been four years and 23 days. The court finds that the plaintiff has failed to prosecute the case. The case is dismissed.”
Following dismissal of the defamation case with prejudice, Sabrina shared in a statement with Rolling Stone that she is relieved. “I’m relieved it’s finally over. It’s been four or five years, and I’m really tired.”
Sources state that Sabrina has been hit with a newly filed defamation lawsuit from T.I and Tiny regarding legal entanglements for both parties prior to the judge’s ruling.
