‘Snowfall’ Spinoff Starring Gail Bean And Isiah John Receives Green-light For Pilot At FX?

Let’s run it back then! A spinoff for the fan-favorite series ‘Snowfall’ has been green-lit for a pilot order with FX!

As we previously reported, rumors of the untitled drama were first issued back in 2023 as ‘Snowfall’ initially concluded. However, no additional details were confirmed.

According to exclusive reports from Variety, the potential spinoff will star ‘Snowfall’ original cast members Gail Bean who portrayed Wanda Bell-Simmons, and Isaiah John who Leon


“Set in 90s Los Angeles soon after the end of the original series, a recovering addict (Bean) strives to take West Coast rap mainstream despite potential infighting from a harrowing gang war,” reads the pilot’s log-line.

‘Snowfall’ was originally created by legendary director and writer John Singleton alongside Eric Amadio with leading actors Damson Idris, Carter Hudson, Angela Lewis, Amin Joseph, Michael Hyatt and Sergio Peris-Mencheta. The fan favorite series explored the late 1980s era during the crack-cocaine epidemic in Los Angeles through the lens of each character.

Sources state, Malcolm Spellman will write and executive produce the pilot, in collaboration with “Snowfall” alums Dave Andron, Thomas Schlamme, Julie DeJoie, Michael London and Trevor Engelson who will also executive produce. FX Productions is the studio.

Snowfall officially wrapped in 2023 after a total of six seasons.
