Whew! Just off the heels of putting on an iconic performance, Kendrick Lamar has secured another win, making history as the most-watched halftime show in Super Bowl history!
According to reports from Billboard, Kendrick’s highly anticipated halftime show pulled in a larger audience than the game’s 127.7 million viewers as opposed to the 133.5 million people that tuned in for the Los Angeles native performance.
“We’ve broken the record again! The most watched Apple Music Halftime show EVER, with 133.5 Million viewers,” reads a tweet from ROC Nation following the big news.
This year’s show officially dethroned the late Michael Jackson’s longtime run as the most-watched halftime show since 1993 which pulled in 133.4 million viewers.
As we previously Kendrick delivered a thought provoking and throughly entertaining performance at this year’s Super-bowl.
With an iconic introduction from legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson, a duet witth SZA, a salute to the city of Compton, Serna Williams crip walking on stage and MUSTARDDDDDDD popping out; Kendrick’s halftime show is one for the books.
“When @kendricklamar and team called and was like ‘we’ve been trying to do something forever, what about this? We loved your crip walk at the Olympics after you won the gold medal,'” Serena wrote Tuesday on Instagram.
“I’m like Super Bowl? Are you serious? When in the world would I ever be able to dance at a superbowl? (Never) let’s do it!” she said. “I knew my winning dance after the @olympics would pay off one day. End of story.”
“THANK YOU @kendricklamar for consistently putting the world on your back. At all times,” wrote SZA on Instagram.
“Thank you for lifting me up. Thank you for encouraging me and being so willing to bend to whatever I may need. Thank you to your incredible team and mine! You’re a prophet. But you knew that. I wasn’t nervous today. I was ready to rep for u. For US. Thank you God, Dot, and the NFL for this opportunity #SUPERBOWL2025 wrapped.”
