Serena Williams urges folks to keep it cute or put it on mute as she addresses negative comments online about her appearance!
While appearing in a recent live stream amongst fans, the legendary tennis player shared a step-by-step makeup tutorial. Seemingly spotting a comment accusing her of altering her skin color, Serena officially addresses rumors that she bleaches.
“Then I put just that neutral colour, that is actually my skin colour, and no, for you haters out there, I do not bleach my skin. There is a thing called sunlight, and in that sunlight, you get different colors.”
“Yes, I’m calling you out on this because it is ridiculous,”said Serena. “Everyone’s like: ‘Oh, she bleached her skin’. I’m a dark black woman and I love who I am and I love how I look.
“If people do it, that’s their thing and they have every opportunity and they should. I don’t judge, but you guys do.
“But that’s what this world is about, and I stay in my lane, the non-judgy one, and I keep it,”’added the 43 year old. But no, I actually don’t bleach my skin, so can we just kind of clear that up?”
Serena’s comments come a few weeks after a video of her and her husband Alexis Ohanian went viral on both TikTok and Instagram.
