Fans of ‘Euphoria’ have been forced to say goodbye to another cast member in the upcoming season as actress Storm Reid confirms she will not be reprising her role!
“I’m very excited for season 3. Unfortunately, Gia’s not returning to the third season, but I am so so indebted to the cast and the crew of that show to HBO,” said the 21-year-old to Rotten Tomatoes on the red carpet at the Governors Awards.
Storm played the role of Gia Bennet, the younger sister to Rue played by Zendaya.
“‘Euphoria’s’ a really special thing and I’m so glad that that’s a part of my legacy and that I was a part of such a cultural phenomenon,” said Storm. “I’m forever grateful, forever indebted.”
“And I can’t wait to see what Season 3 has in store. I’m very excited,”she added.
‘Euphoria’ cast member Barbie Ferreira announced her exit from the series following season two as she expressed that her character’s role had run its course.
Beloved cast member Angus Cloud will also be missed from ‘Euphoria’ new season following his tragic passing in 2023. The 25-year-old’s death was ruled an accidental overdose due to the combined effects of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and benzodiazepines.
According to the NY Post, production for the highly anticipated series is set to begin in early January 2025.
The fan-favorite series has undergone numerous delays in the last couple of years due to the impact of the 2023 Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists strikes in Hollywood. As well as scheduling conflicts among cast members.
