Cousin, local officials are actively investigating the brutal murder of a mother tragically gunned down in Atlanta!
32-year-old Courtney Reese was fatally shot Tuesday night on August 20th near Cleveland Avenue and Browns Mill Road within the southeast area of Atlanta, reports 11 Alive News.
Sources state that a 27-second video clip from a Ring camera security system captured the tragic incident. The video is described as being disturbingly graphic as it shows a tall unidentified person dressed in all white, wearing a hooded sweatshirt as they walk up to Reese. The 32 year old is seen standing outside a home prior to the shooting.
Reese can be heard pleading for her life in the video and saying, “Please. I don’t…” Sadly, the person raised their hands and shot her at point-blank range.
The person is said to have fired off roughly ten shots even after Reese’s body had already collapsed. They then disappear from the frame as they run down the driveway.
Reese Family told 11Alive’s they believe was a man who she was previously seeing. They are hopeful the police catch him before any other innocent victim’s life is taken.
Reese leaves behind three daughters ages 13, 9 and 6, as well as a 11-year-old son.
Police state that Reese’s sister Sametria Edwards-McCord was shot earlier this year in the 2000 block of Chestnut Hill Circle in Decatur on May 24. Police said Edwards-McCord was fatally struck while standing in a crowd when a series of gunshots began to ring out. Though a 16-year-old suspect had previously been identified in that case, no arrest has been made
