Cousins! JT hosted an early screening a double early screening for specifically for fans as she gears up to release her very first solo project!
The mini-documentary, ‘The Making of City Cinderella’ shared exclusive content from JT in the studio laying down tracks, writing music, wardrobe fittings, personal confessions and snippets of her upcoming mixtape .
As viewers attended the early screening with excitement in both New York City and her hometown of Miami, JT surprised her fans and popped up in person at AMC theater located in Manhattan.
In a one on one interview with Wallo from the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast JT was asked to reflect on the difficulties she overcame in a group that helped her to grow as an artist.
“We came short,” she said explained regarding the City Girls 2023 album RAW.
As we previously reported the project sold 10,000 units.
JT expressed feeling that a lot of people played with them as artists and that she was forced to overcome different struggles of her own while being in the group.
“A lot of people played us when I was in a group. I had a lot of obstacles while I was in a group.”
Now as she continues her journey as a solo artist, JT is using previous lessons to assist her with building her name in the music industry.
“Really taking myself serious. Not playing it safe—-just going and doing.”
The 31 year old set the internet a blaze earlier this month as she released the official artwork for her debut mixtape, ‘City Cinderella’
JT can be seen sitting topless in an icy puddle of water while wearing blonde tresses, accompanied by a crown on her head. The lower area of her body appears to portray cracking ice as a single glass shoe appears to have slipped from her foot.
The City Girls announced their split publicly back in June due to creative differences reports Variety.
Since then JT has been pushing her trio of fan favorite solo tracks, No Bars, Sideways and Okay.
Following the success of each single throughout social media, JT went on to promote her music and build her fan base by going on a club tour.
JT’s efforts were met with much criticism online as folks questioned why she was performing at smaller venues. However, each appearance is said to have been sold out across numerous cities.
JT confirmed that it wasn’t an official tour and that she had instructed her team to create a flyer for her scheduled appearances to make it easier for fans.
“ Well.. I kinda have OCD with my Instagram,” JT joked.
“I wasn’t trying to make it a tour. But everyone else——turned it into that.”
“I just wanted everyone to really know where I was going at the same time basically so I wouldn’t have to be like, ‘tonight, this Friday’, next Monday’ you know—tacky sh*t’
City Cinderella drops this Friday July 19th. The mixtape has 16 tracks and lists features from Jeezy, Stunna Girl, DJ Khalid and Clip. The City Cinderella tour also kicks off next month in Kansas City, Missouri.
