Dwyane Wade Shares That He is Considering Releasing A Nail Care Line; ” I Got Some Cool Ideas And I’m Exploring”

Cousins, Basketball Hall of Famer Dwayne Wade is currently contemplating entering the world of beauty and cosmetics as he recently revealed that he is exploring creative options regarding a nail care line!

Dwyane hinted in an interview with Jerica Duncan on CBS Mornings earlier this month that his interest in creative expression has led him to want to debut a nail care line.

While appearing in the aired segment, Dwyane was asked about the nail design he had been sporting and what influenced him to wear colored polish on his hands. He said “Expression… I’m creative, I’m expressive. And, there’s so many ways to do that.” 

Dwyane added,  “[I’m] actually thinking about jumping into the nail line… world… Yeah, I’ve been thinking about it. Like I’ve been in it so long. And I’m like, You know what, it could be a good time, but I got some cool ideas and I’m exploring. I’ve been having some conversations on my own about exploring.”

The former athlete expressed that his six-year-old daughter Kaavia James serves as the inspiration for the potential nail care line. Dwyane shared that one of his most treasured ways to bond with Kaavia is getting his nails done and painting hers

“One of my favorite things to do when it comes to this is actually sitting down with my daughter and getting my nails painted and paint hers. That’s the time that we get to connect. Me doing something that she loves and also that I love.”

Dwayne has received loads of negative comments and backlash online as folks criticize him for wearing colored nail polish as a man.

In a previously aired episode of “The Wine Down’ podcast, he shared where his influence for wearing nail polish came from.

“I saw MJ’s nails and MJ had clear polish on his nails,” Dwyane said.

“At first, I thought I was like I can’t get no polish on my nails I just got to do but because I come from a community where if you do anything outside of the masculine Norm you’re a gay right and so I was trying to like stay away from certain things because people would say about me right this when I cared and then I went with the clear for a while.”
