News of Mister Cee born Calvin LeBrun passing was confirmed today by his family in Brooklyn.

He wasn’t just a DJ; he was a pillar of our stations, bringing joy to countless listeners with his legendary Throwback at Noon and Friday Night Live sets,” reads a statement from Hot 97 on Wednesday afternoon.

Mister Cee’s career in music serves as a major contribution to Hip Hop. He was formerly Big Daddy Kane’s DJ and an executive producer on The Notorious B.I.G.’s debut album 1994 debut, ‘Ready to Die,’ reports Fox News. He also was a longstanding DJ for Hot 97.
