Cousins! A shocking discovery was made earlier this week as a human leg was found on the subway tracks of a Bronx train station!

According to the NY Post, a man’s leg was found within the path of a northbound four-train between the 167th Street subway stop and 170th Street subway on Saturday afternoon around 1:30 PM.

Upon the NYPD’s initial discovery of the disembodied human leg, it was unclear how a body part ended up on the train track. As of Tuesday, February 20th, investigators confirm that the partial remains are believed to belong to a man who had been dragged for miles.

The unidentified male is said to have either fell or jumped onto the tracks earlier this month on February 12th, roughly nine miles away at the Spring Street train station located within the downtown area of Manhattan, says police.

Officials state the man’s leg had been hidden along the tracks and that officers were unable to find it during their initial investigation.

Authorities confirm that they do not suspect criminal activity surrounding the dismembered body part.

According to Fox News, there has been a noticeably concerning trend in train collisions with subway riders in New York City.

In 2022, there were a total of 234 reported incidents, along with 88 deaths. There were been roughly 1,000 arrests made in 2022 for crimes regarding subway surfers.

It has been indicated that “most of the cases of people being struck by trains were either mentally ill individuals or people who voluntarily enter the tracks,” reads a statement from the MTA said.
