Cousins! Hoda Kotb has officially addressed circulated reports that Kelly Rowland exited stage left of the ‘Today’ set as the dressing rooms weren’t in order!
As previously reported by Page Six, Kelly was scheduled to host last week Thursday to promote her new Netflix movie ‘Mea Culpa’, as ‘Today’ show co-host Jenna Bush Hager had taken the day off.
It has been stated that members of Kelly’s team weren’t happy with the appearance of her dressing room upon her 8 AM arrival and pulled her off set.
“Kelly and her team were not happy. They did not like the dressing room, so they decided to pull her off the show, leaving [Kotb] without a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour,”reports Page Six from a close source.
Within a Tuesday morning aired show Hoda expressed her love for Kelly and hopefulness that she will one day return to host.
“I just want to say this: I have great love and admiration for Kelly Rowland. I adore her, and I want her to come back on our show, and I want her to host again,” said Hoda.
She continues by praising Kelly and calling her the best. “Of course she is, of course she is! She can share my dressing room. We’ll be in it together,” says Hoda.
“But anyway, I just want to say we love her. We’ve loved her on this show for many, many years.”
Though Kelly hasn’t come forward to publicly address the issued claims social media users have chimed in to defend the beloved songstress.
“as she should. Her bday was a few days ago, it’s black history month, and she’s KELLY ROWLAND. play with smb else😂,” writes a social media user.
“Unfortunately you can be unproblematic and ppl will still try u just to see if they can get away with it.”
“Yall stop with these false narratives,” wrote Marlon Wayans on Instagram“I’ve worked with @kellyrowland as a Star/producer, I will honestly say she was nothing short of amazing. Sweet, kind, professional. On time, great energy, impeccable manners, and professionalism.”
