Cousins! The days when kids would enjoy a few episodes of Maury and Jerry Springer while sipping hot chocolate along with unlimited nap sessions because school had been shut down for the day due to a snowstorm, have come and gone!
According to NBC News, NYC school has been shut down for Tuesday, February 13th following news of inclement weather. Instead, students will attend class virtually, through remote learning.
It has been indicated that New York City residents are expected to experience roughly 8 inches of snow across the five boroughs between early Tuesday morning until mid-afternoon.
In case you’re unfamiliar, NYC basically parted ways with signature snow days after the COVID-19 pandemic as students were seemingly able to adapt to virtual learning.
“With several inches of snow, poor visibility on the roads, and possible coastal flooding heading our way, New Yorkers should prepare in advance of (Tuesday’s) storm and take the necessary precautions to remain safe,” said New York City Mayor Eric Adams said in a forwarded statement on Monday.
“If you do not have to be on the roads (Tuesday), please stay home.”
According to ABC News, All Catholic Elementary Schools located in the Archdiocese area of New York will be closed Tuesday. Students will be able to enjoy “traditional snow day” with no virtual learning set in place. Catholic schools located in New York City and the upper suburban counties.
Public school and after school programs in Yonkers, along with after school child care programming, have also been canceled.
